Kinetek Taps Bud Hittie to Lead New Electronics Group

Deerfield, IL (May 7, 2007)
Kinetek, a global leader in the design and manufacture of motors and controls for a variety of industrial and commercial applications, has announced the launch of the Electronic Systems Group (ESG), and the appointment of Bud Hittie as its president. A veteran of Kinetek company, Merkle-Korff Industries, Hittie will focus on growth of electronic systems and components in new and existing markets.

“Bud Hittie has achieved considerable success throughout his career”, said Randy Bays, Kinetek president and chief operating officer in announcing the move. “He brings an excellent set of skills to the position which will serve him well as he works with our Kinetek operating companies.” Bays added that the move shows Kinetek’s commitment “to provide resources to support our existing customer base and focus on significant growth opportunities in the electronic control market.”

The Electronic Systems Group manufactures products for industrial, golf car and personal electric vehicle markets as well as floor care and recreational vehicles. Products include low voltage AC and DC traction and pump motor controls, permanent magnet DC motor controls, high frequency battery chargers and custom electronic solutions.

Hittie, who most recently served as product general manager and vp operations for Merkle-Korff Industries, says the ESG is positioned for significant growth. “We have established strong customer relationships through our Imperial, Scott, Advanced (Motors & Drives) and KDS brands.” He added, “And with our line of electronic products and talented engineering resources, we will be able to continue providing innovative products and solutions that customers are embracing.”

Hittie joined Kinetek in March 2000. He has held a succession of senior management roles in product development and management, quality and operations for GE Industrial Systems and Danaher. Hittie is a graduate of Purdue University.
