Adding to its existing wound field D.C. motor range, Advanced D.C. Motors (ADC) completed the first deliveries this month of a new 11" Diameter Series D.C. traction and pump motor. The 11" wound field motor was specifically designed and targeted for heavy duty operation in the Material Handling Lift Truck Market and the Electric & Utility Vehicle Market. This motor will provide a marked increase in horsepower and torque over ADC's widely used and industry accepted 9.1" (231 mm) D.C. motor. The 11" motor is currently available as a 48 volt package, but plans to increase the voltage range to 72 volts and beyond are underway. At 48 volts, the 11" motor is currently rated at 35 H.P. (26kW) continuous duty rating and 130 H.P. (97kW) intermittently. This new offering is produced to the Class "H" Temperature Rating and is U.L. Approved.
