| ED&C Announces Non-Proprietary Escalator Controller | |||||

Troy, MI - Electrical Design and Control, Inc. (ED&C), a KinetekTM company, has announced the development of a non-proprietary, "serviceable and maintainable" escalator control. The new product, Universal Escalator ControlTM, combines field-proven components with straightforward engineering for ease of installation and maintenance. Standard features include user programmability, the ability to vary speed from 8% to 120%, and a complete set of manuals and diagrams. Optional features include: variation of speed according to load, time of day, day of week, etc.; generation of fault reporting (including pager activation); and versatile connection to existing central monitoring and/or security systems. ED&C has built a 40-year reputation providing industrial manufacturing process control solutions to companies including General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Siemens. Work scope has encompassed electrical controls for monorails, sequencers, CNC and servo-drive systems, floor systems, DC and variable frequency systems, and overhead and inverted power systems. |
