| Merkle-Korff Industries Announces Acquisition of Koford Engineering | |||||

Des Plaines, IL - Merkle-Korff Industries is pleased to announce the acquisition of Koford Engineering. Merkle-Korff is an operating subsidiary of Kinetek, a leading manufacturer of electric motors and control systems serving a wide variety of niche industries. Merkle-Korff is a market leader in AC and DC subfractional horsepower motors, gearmotors and linear actuators. Koford Engineering is a manufacturer of customized high-performance brushless and brush DC motors for precision applications in a wide array of industries, including medical, aerospace, telecommunications, and industrial markets. Merkle-Korff President and CEO Paul Boggs comments: "The acquisition of Koford Engineering combines the manufacturing and engineering strengths of Merkle-Korff with the leading edge technology of Koford Engineering. Merkle-Korff realizes a technical expansion of product reach, while bringing Koford a broader market and application base". The two companies will combine their operations into Merkle-Korff facilities in Des Plaines, Illinois, and all Koford employees will be retained. Stuart Koford will lead the newly formed MK-Koford product line as Product General Manager, reporting to Paul Boggs. |
