Kinetek, a global leader in the design and manufacture of motors, controls, and motion control systems for elevator & escalator markets and other industrial and commercial markets, has announced several moves intended to strengthen its presence in Turkey, Russia and the Middle East. The moves were announced at Asansör Istanbul 2009 and include the appointment of Ismail Kosovali as business development manager for Kinetek Turkey; and the planned opening of a Dubai office to be led by Mohamed Ezzeddine, director of business development for Kinetek Middle East.
The opening of offices in Istanbul and Dubai will enable Kinetek (parent company of MCE, Imperial Electric, KDS and ZXK) to accelerate its Turkish and Middle East market growth strategies and better support its customer base in the region, said Dan Walsh, director of international sales for Kinetek’s Elevator & Escalator Solutions Group. “Kinetek elevator group companies have achieved leadership in their respective global markets by developing state of the art elevator controls, ACPM machines and complete elevator packages. We intend to bring this same technology and product leadership to customers in Turkey, Russia, the Middle East and other global markets.”
Walsh noted that the Asansör event provided the opportunity to introduce Ismail Kosovali and Mohamed Ezzeddine to the region’s elevator industry. “We are very excited to bring Mr. Kosovali on board to build our presence in Turkey, the Balkans and Russia. His market insights and practical elevator experience developed over the past 12 years will be a boost for Kinetek and our customers in the region.” Walsh added that Mr. Kosovali will work very closely with Mohamed Ezzeddine. “Mr. Ezzeddine has the knowledge and expertise that will help set Kinetek apart from our competitors. Through the experience gained as MCE’s research & development vice president, he will be especially effective in communicating the depth of Kinetek’s engineering resources and product quality.”
Asansör Istanbul also provided an opportunity to showcase Kinetek’s partnership with Erteknik, a leading Turkish controller manufacturer. Erteknik control solutions, incorporating Kinetek microprocessor boards, were displayed in the Kinetek booth along with Kinetek ACPM machines and the iBox processor, the “brain” of iControl, Kinetek’s industry leading high speed traction controller. Mr. Erkan Sonmez, general manager of Erteknik, was pleased with the show and with the new partnership with Kinetek. “We look forward to a very positive, long-term relationship with Kinetek. The Asansör show provided an opportunity for Erteknik and Kinetek to promote our new partnership to our many customers in Turkey.”
Kosavali is a graduate from Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir, Turkey with a degree in mechanical engineering. He has worked in the modernization department and major projects unit for KONE, and most recently was sales manager for Draka Elevator Products.
